Residential Discus Tank
We installed this stunning 3.2-metre-long freshwater aquarium in a living room, where it has become the centrepiece of the space. Bespoke cabinetry was designed to integrate the aquarium seamlessly with the rest of the room’s modern interior.
The tank was aquascaped using large rocks and driftwood, then heavily planted with a variety of live aquatic species to create a natural, vibrant appearance. It houses 20 Stendker discus as the showpiece fish, accompanied by 500 tetras serving as dither fish to encourage natural behaviour.
The aquarium features high-performance planted LED lighting, fully app-controlled for ease of use and customisation. All equipment is concealed in a sump located beneath the aquarium, ensuring a clean and uncluttered aesthetic.
To enhance functionality and monitoring, we installed an Apex Neptune system, which tracks temperature, pH, and power consumption. A series of float switches allows for remote monitoring of water levels, even from the other side of the world!
