AQUAtechniques is the result of the long-held childhood dream, of owner Simon Flood.

Simon’s love for fish began in childhood when his family welcomed a small tank with two goldfish into their home. Fascinated by tropical freshwater aquariums, Simon devoured every book on tropical fish he could borrow from the library, despite his parents’ initial doubts that his interest would fade.

By age 10, Simon was already dreaming big — envisioning a business named AQUAtechniques. His persistence paid off when he received his first tropical aquarium for his 13th birthday, fueling a lifelong passion.

After earning aquatics and ornamental fish qualifications in college, Simon turned his dream into reality, launching AQUAtechniques in 1997 at the age of 24.

Today, AQUAtechniques has grown into a thriving team of nine dedicated aquarium experts. Our success stems from a shared commitment to quality service and a deep passion for creating beautiful, healthy aquatic environments.

In our Surrey premises, we have invested heavily in fish holding systems that allow us to import and properly quarantine our livestock. We always ensure that all livestock we supply are happy and healthy prior to putting into our client’s aquariums.

The aquatic technician who cleaned our works fish tank did a great job. The stones in the aquarium were white in the beginning. But previous cleaners, have never got them to look white. They made them look new again. He also took extra care, not to suck up the baby fish in the tank.
